Since inception MCHP has helped over 700 people attempt to transition from homelessness into established housing. the transitional living facility is comprised of an office and four apartments. The program is operated by a 12 member board of directors, an advisory board and an executive director. While at Marshall County Home Place the client receives guidance in obtaining employment and self improvement classes and direction in money management. The goal is to provide the physical needs of housing and utilities with case management and support while the client recovers emotionally and financially so that permanent housing can be established.
Marshall County Home Place serves all of Marshall County, Alabama and is the only organization in Marshall County that provides free housing for homeless families while they receive lifestyle and financial guidance.
Sadly, many families are just one paycheck away from homelessness. These could be folks you encounter while doing business or shopping, or your children's friends in school.
